How to Upgrade Your Real TV Box into the New Real X Box
If you have an older Real TV box, the upgrade to the new Real X Box is fairly painless. It might seem technical in the beginning but gets very easy once you start implementing all those steps.
The upgrade takes place in two parts. Firstly, you need to migrate your account from the old box to the new Real X Box. Then, the new box just needs to be set up.
Moving From Your Old Real TV Box to the New Real X Box
This step is important as it migrates the data in your old box to the new Real X Box. In other words, it informs the system that you are upgrading your device instead of starting from scratch.
So, let’s walk through the steps one by one.
1. Select Box Upgrade
- You need to open the primary menu in the old Real TV box.
- Using the arrow keys of your remote, navigate toward the left of the screen and select the settings option, and press OK to open it.
- Now, the settings menu will come up. You need to go to the option of “Box upgrade.”
- The system will now open a form where you need to fill in various information.
2. Update the MAC Information
- Your Name
- Email Address
- Phone Number
- MAC Address
3. Finish the Migration Process for Real X
- Pick up and rotate your new Real X Box to see the opposite side of it
- There, you will see a printed label attached to the box, in which there is also your MAC address. This is an address unique to your device.
- Enter this MAC address inside the old Real TV box’s MAC address field.
- Once you have filled in all of the information, submit the form.
- Your request is now being processed by the system. In a few seconds, you should get the following message on your screen:
4. Plug in Your New Real X BoxÂ
- At this point, you can go ahead and unplug your old Real TV box. Now plug your new Real X Box into your TV.
- However, the upgrade is not yet fully complete. Next is to boot the new box for the first time.
- Below we will guide you through the complete setup of the Real X box.
Setting up Your New Real X Box
After the migration is complete, you will configure your Real X Box for use.
But first things first — before going into system setup, connect the Bluetooth remote control.
1. Pairing up Real X Remote Control
- For the new Real X Box Bluetooth remote control device, you must first pair it with the box for it to be usable. The pairing process typically only takes a few seconds.
- Just hold the remote some 30 cm (about 11 inches) away from Real X Box. Also, ensure that the remote is pointing at the box — this allows the device to detect it faster.
- Simultaneously press the Left and Right arrow buttons on the remote.
- Hold them for a while until it looks like the pairing process is getting started and wait for the indicator light.
- When the light begins blinking, stop pressing the buttons and wait. The connection will be completed automatically by the system.
- After a few seconds, a message will be displayed on your screen, which indicates that the remote has been connected, and you will receive the following message:
- Device Status: Connected
- Device Name: Test Remote
- MAC Address: Shown on the LCD screen
- Once you see this, it means that the Bluetooth remote is paired.
2. Real X Box SettingÂ
- Select Your Language and Display Setting
- You will now see a setup screen asking you to select a language.
- On the remote, use the arrow keys to scroll through the available languages. After you choose your language, press OK to select it.
- You will be asked to choose the display settings suitable for your TV.
- Use the arrow keys to move through the options there and then hit OK on your selection.
- Choosing the right display option makes sure that the screen resolution and layout display correctly on your TV.
3. Choose Time Zone and Country and Internet Settings
- Next, the system will prompt you to choose your time zone / location.
- Using the arrow buttons, scroll up or down until you find the appropriate location. When it appears, click OK to confirm.
- Proper time and region settings allow the box to correctly reflect both the content of your system and its timing.
- After this, the system will enter the most crucial step — hooking the box up to the internet.
- Setting up Internet Connection in the Real Tv
- The Real X Box needs to be connected to the internet for channels, apps, and streaming services.
- You can do this in two ways.
- Connecting via Wi-Fi First, where you need to pick your network from the list
- Type in the Wi-Fi password with the on-screen keyboard; it should get connected straightaway.
- Also, you can wire the box with an LAN cable. Behind the box is the LAN port, which makes it very easy to plug directly into your router.
4. Setup Completion
- Under that, select “Ok.” This verifies the basic settings and makes the device ready for usage, and now the welcome screen will open up with options for language, time zone, and screen.
- Select the first language and complete the necessary fields for other information.
- Your Real X Box basic setup is all done. You will get to see a window saying, “Set up is complete.” Click on “Sign in” to proceed.
5. Log In & Register Your Account
- Choose Sign In, and then enter the following:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Â Email Address
- Phone Number
- Activation Code (Enter any set of numbers to activate).
- After completing the form, click Submit. The device is activated in the system once the necessary registration has been completed.
